Shrub or small tree 2-3 (5) m; erect or arching; semi-deciduous. Older branches dark brown or greyish-black, glabrous, younger stems greenish, dense tomentum.
Ecology UK: Open woodlands, grasslands, waterways, roadsides, waste areas. Native to south-western China, northern Myanmar and northern Thailand. Occasional escapee; photos of such a plant by the reverside in the Cévennes.
Fleurs : corolle rose ou rosâtre, 6-10 mm diam; inflorescences majoratoirement 5-15 fleurs, pétales dressées (3-4 mm x 2-3 mm) ; Pedicelles 2-4 mm, tomenteuses.
Floraison France : Fl. mai-juin, fr. octobre.
Flowers: Pink or pinkish-white, 6-10 mm across in corymbs containing 5-15 flowers. Five relatively erect petals (3-4 mm x 2-3 mm), erect apices, five tiny sepals (1-2 mm x 1.5-2.5 mm wide; 20 stamens, 2-5 styles. Pedicels 2-4 mm, densely pubescent.
